Misato (美里), the Japanese "muscle model," has finally added an update to her web site.  In the past, she has never really shown her face, opting instead to wear large, dark, sunglasses or hide her face from the camera.  Now, she is a little more adventurous and has posted some more glamorous photography where she shows her face.  Click here to view the gallery.

Keeping in mind Japanese culture, Misato is very intriguing.  By bodybuilding standards, she is not that large.  However, by Japanese standards, she is very unusual for two reasons:  1. she obviously works to keep her physique muscular, and 2. she decides to show it off on a web site with pictures and video.  She really must have a maverick personality. 

She sells some DVD's in Japan, but I have never seen what they are like.  I am not clear as to whether she earns a living exhibiting her body or if it is a sort of hobby for her.

It is women like Misato who can change attitudes about muscular females, particularly in conservative countries like Japan.  A younger physique exhibitionist named Quaren came on the scene for a while, but she has since disappeared.  The Japanese have a saying: "the nail that sticks out gets hammered down."  I suspect Quaren stuck out too far.  Thus far, Misato stands alone.
